The entire new gTLD applicant community is awaiting, patiently, the forthcoming Brussels meeting between the ICANN Board and the Governmental Advisory Committee (GAC) to take place from February 28th. After years of delays to the new gTLD process, ICANN and the GAC will try to reach an agreement on how and when to launch the new Generic Top-Level Domains (gTLD) programme.

The final version ?
The fifth version of the Candidate Handbook had been published and is described as "final" by Icann. This version offers a different solution to outstanding problems by allowing vertical integration between registries and registrars or by linking the creation of new extensions to respect international law (moral and public order). 1- First of all, congratulations ! PuntCat recently reached 40.000 domain names. what are the main factors of success for .cat ?
Thanks. We believe it’s because .cat is the way a cultural, linguistic and national reality has to be itself on the Internet, being known world wide and abandoning invisibility. It is not a surprise that a community that created the second Wikipedia just after the first one in English, that is regularly translating into Catalan Opensource tools like Firefox, (...)
